4. Kyler Murray

The Giants seem stubbornly committed to letting Eli Manning serve as their starting quarterback for the entire 2019 campaign. That doesn’t mean he’s going to be the guy who propels this offense into the future. New York must find their 2020 starting signal caller in this draft.

The obvious problem here is that Murray might not make it all the way to No. 6. The Cardinals have serious interest in him at No. 1 and if he gets past them it’s very likely the Raiders or Buccaneers would stop his fall. With that being said, it’s not impossible he could fall down into the Giants’ hands.

It’s true that Murray doesn’t strike anyone as a Gettleman type player, but Giants’ head coach Pat Shurmur would love to have a talent like this to mold. Murray isn’t a guy who needs to sit for a season, but that won’t stop New York from taking him and giving him the Patrick Mahomes treatment.

The appeal of Murray to the Giants is that he can make plays inside and outside the pocket. That sort of dynamic talent to make an average wide receiver group look better than they actually are. Without Beckham in the fold that could really appeal to Shurmur and company.
