2. D.K Metcalf

If the Giants think signing Golden Tate is going to fill the void created by trading Odell Beckham Jr. they are going to be really disappointed. This offense still needs to find a player capable of inspiring real fear in opposing defenses on a weekly basis. Metcalf absolutely has the talent to become that type of player.

Metcalf’s performance at the NFL Combine makes him one of the most tantalizing players in his class. There aren’t many human beings on Earth who are 6-foot-3, 228 pounds and can run a 4.33 40-yard dash. That means Metcalf is going to be a match-up nightmare for NFL defensive backs.

There are legitimate questions about whether or not Metcalf has the agility to run all the routes he’ll be asked to execute at the next level. Nonetheless, there’s little doubt he’ll be a really effective deep threat. The Giants certainly need that after Beckham’s departure.

The one reason the Giants may not be tempted to take Metcalf is just because Gettleman may not believe in taking a wide receiver with his first pick. That seems a bit like a luxury pick for a team that isn’t in a position to make that type of selection.
