3. Jawaan Taylor

The Bills need to find more weapons for Allen, but they also need to provide him some protection. Coming away with the best tackle in the draft would be a solid first round move for Buffalo.

In a perfect world, that guy would be a left tackle, but the Bills won’t downgrade Jawaan Taylor too much for being a natural right tackle. McDermott’s offense struggled to keep pressure away from Allen on either edge. Taylor would be a clear upgrade over Buffalo’s current options at the position.

Taylor would also help Buffalo’s run game. He did a great job of moving the pile during his collegiate career at Florida. Watching tape of his play in Dan Mullen’s offense really showed off his run-blocking skills. Taylor isn’t an absolute mauler out on the edge but he’s got the feet and drive to move defensive lineman off the ball.

Drafting Taylor isn’t going to electrify the Bills’ fan base, but it would drastically improve the odds of Allen making it through the 2019 season in one piece. This organization has to find upgrades at offensive line at some point in this draft. The first round would be a logical place to start.
