3. The Bro prepares for The Dream and vice versa

In preparation for Matt Riddle’s North American title shot against the Velveteen Dream at Takeover, he had a warm-up match on NXT against Kona Reeves. Reeves started the match by slapping Riddle in the face, clearly not the best strategy.

After a minor flurry of offense from Reeves, the King of Bros took over and controlled the match from that point on until the Dream’s music hit and he was pushed out on a couch by two unknown women to watch the match from the ramp. This distracted Riddle and allowed Reeves to once again regain control of the match.

But it was once again short-lived as Riddle won the match with the bro-mission, securing yet another victory. The Dream interrupts the ring announcer and proclaims Riddle as the winner of the match like only he can.

Riddle walks up the ramp to confront the Dream, taking Dream’s drink and tossing it and then stealing his microphone to say he will see him in New York, “bro.” The match was short and fine for what it was, a showcase for Riddle. The feud between these two has already proven to be a lot of fun. They should have a great match at Takeover.
