3. Clelin Ferrell

Ferrell has seen his stock drop a little bit after finishing his Clemson career, but he’s a player who fits really well into what Green Bay wants to do on defense. He isn’t the flashiest edge rusher in this class, but he does have the size to stand up against the run in a 3-4 alignment.

Similar to the case with Ford, the Packers might think Ferrell isn’t quite valuable enough to take at No. 12. Most mocks have him going a few picks later. However, his schematic fit might push him higher on Green Bay’s board than most other teams.

Ferrell’s value could also be helped by his ability to move inside on passing downs. That’s not something Clemson did with him, but they were blessed with elite talent inside at the collegiate level. Swapping Ferrell for Kenny Clark in certain situations could really boost Green Bay’s pass rush.

If the Packers do select Ferrell at No. 12, expect them to take a big swing with their No. 30 selection. In many ways, the two selections are tied together. Ferrell isn’t going to develop into an All-Pro, but his floor is really high. That’s going to be enough to get his name called somewhere in round 1.
