Nick Bosa. 2. player. 42. . Edge. Ohio State

The San Francisco 49ers have high expectations for themselves heading into 2019, as you have to figure the 2018 season was a disappointing year on many levels. They went into 2018 hoping to build off five straight victories to close the 2017 season, thanks to the addition of starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

Last offseason, San Francisco added pieces that helped them on both sides of the ball, but really were bitten by the injury bug early on. In 2019, those guys are back, as well as some young talent, and with Garoppolo healthy, they should be a team to keep an eye on in a very good NFC West this upcoming season.

When it comes to the roster, they added a strong piece in Dee Ford this offseason, bringing in a guy who is very good at getting after the quarterback. With the No. 2 overall pick, they could look to bring in another elite edge rusher, and some believe that Nick Bosa is the best player in this draft class at his position.

During his time at Ohio State, Bosa established himself as a guy who could become a double-digit sack master at the next level, and is healthy after sitting out a chunk of the 2018 season. The 49ers need to start winning games in year three of the Kyle Shanahan/John Lynch marriage, and Bosa is a guy they could build this defense around for years to come.
