3. Clelin Ferrell

Wilkins isn’t the only Clemson defensive lineman that will catch Quinn’s eye on tape. Ferrell is a player who should draw even more interest from the Falcons. He’s a slightly better prospect than Wilkins and plays at a position of higher value to NFL teams.

Ferrell isn’t the most explosive edge rusher in the class, but he is a solid player in that regard. He gains points in the eyes of NFL scouts for his ability to hold up on the edge against the run. Ferrell may never grow into a Pro Bowler, but he’s got above-average starter written all over him.

In many ways, he’s the antithesis of Beasley. The No. 8 pick in the 2015 draft, also from Clemson, flashes great pass rushing ability but is one of the most inconsistent players in the NFL. Ferrell doesn’t pop out nearly that often on his college tape, but he almost never is guilty of not doing his job for his team.

Ferrell might be a slight reach for the Falcons at No. 14, but grabbing an immediate starter would be a solid coup for Quinn and his coaching staff. He’s not going to be a star, but he can be an important piece for the Falcons defense for years to come.
