WrestleMania 35 results: Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins upset The Revival, win Raw tag straps

Fans of The Revival aren’t going to be pleased with their WrestleMania role. They dropped the Raw Tag Team title belts to Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins on the WrestleMania 35 Kickoff Show.

Wrestling purists haven’t been happy about the way The Revival have been booked in WWE recently. Their performance during WrestleMania 35 isn’t going to help matters. Dropping the Raw Tag Team Championship to Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins will not elevate their status in the company.

For Ryder and Hawkins, it should give them some quality TV time on at least this week’s Monday Night Raw. Projecting anything beyond that would be foolish. The WWE has put the Intercontinental Championship on Ryder only to quickly strip him of it in the past. Expect to see The Revival get their rematch tomorrow.

Even if Ryder and Hawkins are able to knock The Revival off one more time, it’s hard to imagine them getting a long run with the belts. At best, fans of both guys should hope to see their relationship break down into a singles feud.

Fans of The Revival need to desperately hope that their favorite tag team wins the belts back immediately. They’re a pairing that really needs a Championship to seem relevant with the rank-and-file WWE fan. Fans familiar with their work in NXT might not want to admit it, but The Revival have struggled to really catch on with fans on Raw.

WrestleMania won’t be the final confrontation between these four Superstars, but it’s an important feud for everyone involved. Each guy is desperately trying to scratch out a regular place on WWE television. The probable match-up between the two tag teams on this week’s edition of Raw will likely be an elimination match in terms of a role on television moving forward. Ryder and Hawkins got their WrestleMania moment, but don’t be shocked if it all comes crashing down tomorrow.
