2. Cincinnati Bengals

Andy Dalton has shown flashes of mediocre NFL quarterback play; that’s what I can say for him. To all the Dalton lovers, all I can say is I don’t see it. He has never been able to elevate his play in order to elevate his team, and with a new coach in town who has an innovative offensive mindset, I believe the Bengals will draft a quarterback of the future for him to mold.

Dalton does have two years left on his current deal, so they would have to choose between cutting him next year with a $17M dead cap hit or keeping him as a back up, should the rookie be ready between now and next season. But I think it’s worth it for them to attempt a reset, just as they have at head coach.

The prospect I think fits in the best with the Bengals is Ryan Finley out of N.C. State. They can grab him in the second or third round with one of their 11 picks and let him develop for a year under Dalton. He has the potential to develop into an upper tier starter in the league if trained and molded in the right way by the new coaching staff.
