Chad Gable to 205 Live

Despite finding success on NXT, Raw and SmackDown as a tag-team competitor, capturing gold on all three brands, to say Chad Gable isn’t being used to his potential seems like a vast understatement. He’s a former Olympian, whose shined in every opportunity he’s been given in singles action — check his matches from 2017 on SmackDown against Kevin Owens and AJ Styles— and one can’t help but feel that if he were five inches taller, or 30 pounds heavier, he’d be main eventing, like a millennial Kurt Angle. Luckily for the former tag team champion, a brand exists where his perceived size limitations won’t hold him back: 205 Live.

One could infer by its pre-show only presence on monthly pay-per-views, 205-Live is the WWE’s red-headed stepchild. However, while it may appear neglected, WWE has been doing some excellent work there recently, and it’s allowing for some perhaps otherwise undervalued talent to shine.

205 Live general manager Drake Maverick always talks about bringing the best new talent to his brand and has been doing so in recent months with the call-ups of Humberto Carillo and Oney Lorcan. Chad Gable would be another excellent addition between the purple ropes and his possible matches against superstars like Cedric Alexander, Buddy Murphy and current Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese would be a treat for fans.

Gable deserves better than his arranged marriage to Bobby Roode and a move to 205 Live could be just the showcase this wrestling machine needs. Just google “Chad Gable rolling German suplex”, and tell me you don’t want to watch that happen with more regularity.
