1. Kansas City Chiefs

This one is a no-brainer … if the team is comfortable with his background. Handing the keys to the car to then second-year quarterback and eventual NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes last season, the Kansas City Chiefs experienced their most successful season in decades. Losing to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game, improving on defense has been a point of emphasis this offseason.

Releasing former NFL sack king Justin Houston and trading away linebacker Dee Ford, it’s clear that new defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has a certain vision in mind. Despite KC leading the league in sacks a year ago, it finished 31st in yards allowed and 24th in scoring. To say the Chiefs’ defense was tough to watch in 2018 would be an understatement. Adding a player such as Clark certainly is an enticing move.

With possible extensions to Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Chris Jones imminent, it would be wise for General Manager Brett Veach to go all-in this season. As a result of a busy offseason, the Chiefs currently have just under $23 million in cap room. That’s before Eric Berry’s $9 million comes off the books in June.

Possessing no elite talent on the edge, but a pair of second-round picks to use as trade chips, could Kansas City be the next call the Seattle front office receives?
