4. Jahmai Jones, 2B

The brother of current Detroit Lions’ wide receiver T.J. Jones, Angels second baseman Jahmai Jones was expected to become an everyday player for Los Angeles after a breakout 2017 season. Jones smacked 14 homers, batted .282 at the dish and flashed his wheels with 27 stolen bases between A and A+ in 2017.

However, Jones has yet to replicate that success, taking a step back in 2018 and starting 2019 batting .146 with 16 strikeouts already. But the 21-year-old outfielder-turned-second baseman has an excellent work ethic and has spent a full season at 2B, making the Angels confident Jones will return to form in 2019. If he is able to get back to hitting the ball like he was two seasons ago, Jones at the very least provides more upside than current 2B Tommy La Stella and might serve better to receive more at-bats than the veteran La Stella.
