31. . QB. New York Giants. Daniel Jones. 17. player

The Giants have to get the successor to Eli Manning, and Daniel Jones is the logical choice. Jones played his college ball for Duke under Head Coach David Cutcliffe. Cutcliffe has longstanding ties to the Manning family, including both Peyton and Eli. There’s no question Manning knows Jones and will likely vouch for him to General Manager Dave Gettleman.

Look for Jones to sit behind Manning for 2019 and then take over as the starter for 2020. With two picks in the first round, Gettleman has to nail both these picks to start rebuilding a franchise that is seeing some of its darkest days since the 1970s.

Minnesota Vikings. Jonah Williams. 18. player. 60. . OT

The safest bet in this draft might be the Vikings taking the best available offensive lineman. In this scenario, Minnesota has its pick of anybody, and Jonah Williams is the right call. Williams was terrific during his time with the Alabama Crimson Tide, showcasing both strength and agility at left tackle.

In Minnesota, the Vikings have one of the most complete rosters in the league, but the O-Line has been a glaring weakness for years. Williams would be expected to come in and start immediately, giving quarterback Kirk Cousins security within the pocket.
