2019 NFL mock draft: Kyler Murray finally goes to Cardinals
By Brad Weiss
The Minnesota Vikings were the big winners of the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes last off-season, as they signed the free-agent quarterback to a huge multi-year deal. In his first season in the Twin Cities, Cousins did not lead to a Vikings back to the playoffs, where they had made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game the year before.
Looking at this team, they need a ton of help on the offensive line, and that is where they should use the No. 18 overall pick this Thursday. One of the better interior linemen in this draft class is Chris Lindstrom from from Boston College, and he would be a perfect fit for this Vikings offensive line moving forward.
Two years ago, first-year running back Dalvin Cook tore up his knee, and it usually takes a year or two to return from that kind of injury. Prior to the injury, Cook looked every bit the part of a feature back at the NFL level. He is going to play a huge role in this offense getting better in 2019, so it would make sense for them to use their first round pick on the offensive line.
Cousins is a guy who is going to put up the numbers, and the Vikings should be right in the mix in the NFC North next season. The issues with this team last year were the offensive line, and their defense, and if they can be better in those two areas, the Vikings are certainly a team to keep an eye on as they try to make it back to the playoffs.
