High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,250

Ben Simmons (at TOR – $8,100): Needs 38.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 26 fantasy points against Brooklyn. Simmons has been a bit all over the place in the playoffs and I’m really not a fan of this matchup for him. Especially in Game 1 where the Raptors are going to have a game plan and the Sixers probably won’t be able to adjust. Simmons averaged 41.4 fantasy points in four games against Toronto in the regular season. But the Raptors defense, especially Kawhi and Siakam, is going to make his life miserable. The ceiling is high, but he’s a risk. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.

Kyle Lowry (vs PHI – $7,000): Needs 33.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 34.5 fantasy points against Orlando. Lowry found his game after a poor Game 1 against the Magic and we know what he’s capable of. He averaged 35.8 fantasy points in four games against the Sixers this season. Trusting the Raptors in Game 1 always feels like a mistake because they are the Raptors. But I like Lowry to at least get value. Famous last words. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.

High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Derrick White (at DEN – $5,700): Needs 26.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 21.75 fantasy points against Denver.White hasn’t had it in the last three playoffs games and you can always spend less on Mills and Forbes. But White is going to get the minutes and he has the higher ceiling. This just depends on your mindset. Save money on Mills if you want reliable production. Spend on White if you’re feeling risky. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.

Fred VanVleet (vs PHI – $4,000): Needs 18.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 22.75 fantasy points against Orlando. VanVleet has been more bad than good in the playoffs but he did turn in a solid outing in Game 5 against the Magic. That said, he was dreadful against the Sixers this season, averaging 14.3 fantasy points in three games. But I should warn that all of these Sixers/Raptors games were before the trade deadline, when both teams made big changes. He’ll get decent enough minutes. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.
