High Value Guards

Players costing under $8,333

Klay Thompson (at HOU – $7,600): Needs 34 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 36.75 fantasy points against Houston. Klay will continue to get the shots and opportunities in this series. He has struggled with his shot a little bit in the playoffs but that’s not going to stop the Warriors from looking his way. He’s at a nice salary and I like him as a potential captain if you want to save some money and possibly maximize production. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Eric Gordon (vs GS – $5,200): Needs 23.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 17.5 fantasy points against Golden State. Gordon will continue to be a streaky player because that’s just who he is. When he’s on, he’s going to provide excellent value. But when he’s off, he’s nearly a waste of money. He’ll get some numbers and can always hit big. I do like him at home. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.

Austin Rivers (vs GS – $4,400): Needs 19.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 18.75 fantasy points against Golden State. Role players play better at home and we know Rivers can get hot from the field. He has the trust of D’Antoni, which is a good sign because it means he’s going to get the minutes. He’s at a nice cost and if you’re looking for a low-cost captain, Rivers isn’t the worst choice in the world. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.
