Reigning Indy 500 champion Will Power and current pole sitter Simon Pagenaud are sharing their tips for leading a race in a new motorsports video.

Will Power knows a lot about being in front of a race, and now the incumbent Indy 500 winner is giving aspiring drivers his advice on how to be a better frontrunner.

Power stars in the latest video from SAFEisFAST.com, a project of the Road Racing Drivers Club, called “Learning to Lead a Race.” He’s one of several NTT IndyCar Series drivers who explain what it’s like to be in the lead, and what drivers have to have on their minds when they’re up front.

He’s got plenty of experience in that respect, as Power is continually capturing pole positions. In this season’s five races so far, the No. 12 Team Penske Chevrolet has started on the pole twice. He has 51 pole awards in his career, so there’s no one better than Will Power to explain leading an IndyCar race.

If that’s not cool enough, Power’s Team Penske teammate Simon Pagenaud also contributed to the video—shortly before he won the pole position for this weekend’s Indy 500. Pagenaud, like Power, is also a former IndyCar champion and comes into Indianapolis Motor Speedway with all the momentum as the winner of this month’s IndyCar Grand Prix.

Colton Herta, who made history last month as the youngest race winner in IndyCar history, and Meyer Shank Racing’s Jack Harvey also appear in the video. That makes this an excellent watch for anyone who wants to race professionally.

Even if your only racing experience is watching it on TV, this is still a piece worth checking out as fans await the start of the 2019 Indianapolis 500. It features the most recent winner and the new pole sitter, and will give viewers some additional perspective on what Pagenaud will have going through his head when the green flag drops on May 26.
