Callum Hudson-Odoi

Though Bayern have two legitimate stars on the wings in Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry, they could still use one or two more wingers on the squad for the 2019-2020 season. Not only is Coman’s health far from a guarantee, but Die Roten could use additional reinforcements after Ribery and Robben’s departures.

Bigger names are available for Bayern, but if Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is out for the next big young star, Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi makes the most sense. There’s been so much smoke linking both sides, and while it’s possible for Hudson-Odoi to stay in Chelsea and become a key part of their future, Maurizio Sarri may have burned that bridge by not playing Hudson-Odoi enough in the Premier League.

Chelsea will face arch rivals Arsenal in the finals of the Europa League, and their success in European competition can be partially attributed to Hudson-Odoi’s brilliance in the tournament. In just 417 minutes of action, Hudson-Odoi has recorded four goals and two assists, showing off his immense technical ability and his eye for goal.

Hudson-Odoi is an exceptional athlete with a killer instinct, and he’s already capable of starting — or at least receiving significant minutes — for a top club. A versatile player, the English international could interchange on the right and left flanks for Bayern, and that should only make the 18-year-old an even more attractive option to a Bayern side looking to get younger.

In terms of pure fit, Hudson-Odoi might be Bayern’s best bet. He checks off all the boxes for what they’re looking for, and if he’s interested in leaving with Christian Pulisic now officially at Chelsea, he should come at an affordable price compared to other options.
