4. The card for NXT Takeover XXV comes together

After tonight’s edition of NXT, we now have the full card for NXT TakeOver XXV. It’s stacked from top to bottom and we are in for a real treat on June 1.

With every championship on the line let’s run down the card, starting with the only match without a championship on the line as Matt Riddle goes one-on-one with Roderick Strong. Obviously, Riddle will be looking for revenge from that parking lot attack on last week’s show. And with the rest of the Era busy with their own matches later on in the night, this one has a good chance of happening without interference.

From there, the vacant NXT Tag Team titles will be on the line in a fatal four-way ladder match as the Street Profits, the Forgotten Sons, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch and Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly of the Undisputed Era will square off to crown new champions. We will stick to our guns with what we said here last week that the Viking Raiders should be dropping these titles at TakeOver and being in a ladder match would have made it even easier. One of these teams could easily have been swapped out for them, but we digress. Regardless, this matchup has the potential to steal the show.

Next, the NXT Women’s Championship is on the line as Shayna Baszler defends her title against Io Shirai. With Kairi Sane now on SmackDown Live it will be interesting to see if Shirai’s newfound friendship with Candice LeRae will be enough to even the odds at ringside during this title match. Or will the numbers game catch up to Shirai yet again?

In what some would call the most surprising match of the night, the returning Prince Pretty himself, Tyler Breeze, takes on the Velveteen Dream for the North American Championship. With Breeze back in the black and gold brand it’s obvious he has something to prove, and while the ladder match might steal the show, these two (if given time) has just as good of a chance of doing the same thing.

Finally, in the main event, a rematch from NXT TakeOver: New York as Johnny Gargano defends the NXT Championship against the leader of the Undisputed Era, Adam Cole. Gargano overcame all the odds to win the championship in Brooklyn last month but has his luck already run out? Is it time for the Undisputed Era to rule over NXT with almost all the gold? You’ll have to tune in next Saturday night to find out!
