WWE NXT UK Recap for May 22, 2019: New WALTER Order

Rhea Ripley is still secretly nursing a foot injury, but that doesn’t mean she can’t come out to the ring to cut a heated promo. The good news about Ripley’s injury is that NXT UK isn’t letting the hype over the eventual match between her and Piper Niven die down at all. It’s a pretty entertaining promo, where the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion calls out and runs down Niven.

She sarcastically refers to Niven as a “Big Deal” in Scotland, which — as any mention of Scotland in Scotland does — elicits a big cheer from the crowd. Ripley of course lashes out at the crowd for this telling by them to shut up, which changes the cheers to boos and amusing chants of, “You shut up!” Maturity all around.

Anyway, Ripley pulls the “actually my would-be opponent is obsessed with me and wants to be me” card, referring to how Niven wants to be considered the most dominant woman in NXT UK over her. But, Niven is anything but dominant per Ripley. To her, Niven is a wannabe who reeks of fear. These statements will probably go over well with their target.

Ripley and Niven need to get in the ring together ASAP, preferably at whatever the next NXT UK TakeOver will be.
