High Value Guards

Players costing under $12,000

Malcolm Brogdon (at TOR – $10,500): Needs 41.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 40.2 fantasy points against Torono. Brogdon bounces back in Game 5 because that’s what he does. The Bucks will need a big game out of him with their season on the line in Game 6. And I expect him to deliver. He’s a great player and always finds ways to contribute. Trust him to deliver in this one. If you take him, he should be a PRO pick at worst. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

George Hill (at TOR – $10,500): Needs 40.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 23.1 fantasy points against Toronto. Hill continues to be steady given his salary. He’s going to get the minutes and he’s not going to hurt you because he’s simply a reliable player. I don’t know why he’s at the same salary as Brogdon though. Maybe his floor isn’t as low but his ceiling isn’t close to Brogdon’s. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.

Fred VanVleet (vs MIL – $7,500): Needs 29.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 26.7 fantasy points against Milwaukee. VanVleet isn’t as reliable as Hill but his ceiling might be slightly higher. And he’s at a great salary, which certainly helps his cause. He will continue to get the minutes for the Raptors and maybe the baby gave him extra motivation because he hasn’t looked this good all season. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
