Fantasy Football 2019: Top 10 Values in Early Drafts
By Kevin Scott
Value No. 3: Aaron Jones (Draft.com ADP: 35 overall)
Aaron Jones has shot up the board year over year, from 93 overall to currently 35 overall. So why on earth do I have him as one of the top values? I anticipate Jones will outperform that draft spot.
It was easy to see his explosiveness in 2017, which is why many were drafting him everywhere last year at his cheap price, believing beating out the plodding Jamaal Williams would be simple.
It didn’t work out exactly like that. He was suspended for the first two games and received 11 or fewer carries in his first four games. After the Packers bye he began to show the same explosiveness and took over as the lead back, finishing the season at 5.5 yards per carry.
If he receives even 200 carries this season, which is a modest 12-13 carries per game, and continued to put up his 5.5 yards per carry, he would have 1,100 yards, not to mention his receiving stats.
With the new coaches in town in Green Bay, it is also fair to assume that the offense will be more dynamic, and provide Jones with more scoring opportunities.
