4. Minnesota Vikings

If the Vikings fall short of expectations again in 2019, there’s a solid chance head coach Mike Zimmer and his coaching staff will be gone.

Exactly where Minnesota would look for a new head coach is hard to pinpoint right now, but at 60 years old Lewis doesn’t fit the current league-wide trend of going younger and offensive-minded.

If Zimmer remains as Vikings’ head coach and his staff remains fully intact, a spot could be made for Lewis as an assistant.

Zimmer was Lewis’ defensive coordinator in Cincinnati from 2008-13, and the two have remained friends. If Vikings’ defensive coordinator George Edwards leaves for a head coaching opportunity, Lewis would be a natural replacement as a right-hand man for Zimmer.

Zimmer’s son Adam is Minnesota’s current linebackers coach, so maybe Lewis would have some sort of role coaching that position if the coordinator post isn’t open.
