NXT UK recap for June 5, 2019: A Very Fatal Four-Way

Jinny and her new enforcer Jazzy Gabert get caught in a classic Sorkin walk-and-talk about how the two of them have become the “talk” of the NXT UK women’s division. As a woman of wealth, Jinny knows how to rig the odds in her favor so that she prospers while the other 99 percent wither away. She knew there was no way she could defeat Gabert in a fight, so she opted for friendship instead.

With Gabert by her side, why, it’s possible Jinny will never have to actually try at anything in order to be successful ever again! By the end of 2019, she could be NXT UK Women’s Champion while doing less than five wrestling moves. What an inspiring story it would be.

A match between Ilja Dragunov and Joseph Conners that is being hyped as having off the charts intensity (!!!) is announced. Shouldn’t be hard to guess who is going to win that one. Sorry, Joseph!

We get a hype package for Imperium that basically just reinforces the points of their literally one promo as a group. They wear black jackets, they put their arms behind their backs and pose, they’re European, they want to make NXT UK great again. Not much else to know right now. As a related point, Tyler Bate is featured in the July issue of Men’s Health UK. Imperium takes on Bate and the rest of British Strong Style next week in a main event that should be off the charts.

Finally, while it was already announced during TakeOver XXV after Io Shirai chair-moonsaulted Shayna Baszler, it gets re-announced here: NXT UK is getting another TakeOver event!

On August 31 it will be TakeOver: Cardiff, live from — take a seat because this may shock you — Cardiff, Wales! Very exciting! TakeOver: Blackpool was great and there’s no reason to suspect Cardiff should be any different. We’re still over two full months away, so it will be interesting to see what the landscape of NXT UK looks like by the time August 31 rolls around. Like, will they stretch out Travis Banks challenging WALTER until then? Same for Kay Lee Ray against Toni Storm. Only time will tell.
