High Value Guards

Players costing under $8,333

Fred VanVleet (vs GS – $6,400): Needs 25.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 22 fantasy points against Golden State. VanVleet had to leave Game 4 but I’m assuming he’s good to go for Game 5. He’s been great in this series and he will continue to get the minutes and opportunities. He’s a solid captain pick given his cost and minutes. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Shaun Livingston (at TOR – $3,000): Needs 11.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 12.75 fantasy points against Toronto. With Klay back in the lineup, Quinn Cook takes a backseat to Shaun Livingston because Livingston and his defense and playmaking are more needed than Cook and his shooting. Although the Warriors might find they need Cook’s shooting in this game. Cook has the higher ceiling but Livingston is the more reliable option. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.

Danny Green (vs GS – $4,400): Needs 18.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 13.75 fantasy points against Golden State. Once more, and for possibly the last time, Green is who he is. The minutes will be there due to his defense and he will get his shooting attempts. It’s just a matter of shots going in for him. He’s still a good low-cost captain due to his salary and his ability to hit a few 3s. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.
