WWE: 5 opponents Bray Wyatt should face
Bray Wyatt has reinvented his character and his Firefly Fun House segments are some of the most revered spots on WWE television. Eventually, Wyatt will have to step inside the ring and bring his crazy new character to full fruition. But who will he face first?
Though Bray Wyatt’s vignettes have been garnering great attention for his new gimmick, they can’t go on forever. At some point all the “yowie wowie” will have to pay off in the ring. It looks like Wyatt’s psycho Mr. Rogers character is destined to be a heel, but in the world of pro wrestling the heels often become more popular than the babyfaces and wind up switching roles.
Besides the Firefly Fun House segments Wyatt has done a lot of tweeting, mentioning quite a few names from his past. So exactly who is Wyatt’s first angle going to be with? This article considers five great opponents for Wyatt in his new character.
5. Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman and Wyatt certainly have a history together. They debuted on the main roster along with Luke Harper and Eric Rowan as part of the Wyatt Family. It should also be noted that behind-the-curtain Strowman has stated Wyatt has been a mentor for him.
Revisiting their past could be an easy and natural progression for Wyatt to get back into the ring. The natural chemistry and camaraderie lends itself to a series of well-paced matches where the two bring out the best in each other.
This feud could also give Strowman a much-needed boost, as well. Since winning the Money in the Bank contract in 2018 he seems to have fallen from grace. A heated rivalry with Wyatt would revitalize Strowman’s career while giving Wyatt a strong opponent for his first match back.
4. Aleister Black
Both Wyatt and Aleister Black have been waiting it out on the sidelines for some time now. Each of the Superstars are cutting their own brand of unique promos week after week to build interest in their characters. Wouldn’t it be interesting then to have them clash with each other in the ring?
Black’s dark and brooding promos have a distinct contrast to Wyatt’s bright and cheery Firefly Fun House segments. That is until Wyatt’s alter-ego pops up wearing a sinister looking mask created by master of effects, Tom Savini. With the two of them exploring dark and edgier approaches we could be looking at this generation’s Undertaker vs. Kane. A contrast of their in-ring styles would also lend itself to some intriguing matches.
3. Randy Orton
It wasn’t too long ago that Wyatt sent a strange tweet out directed at his former rival Randy Orton. The message reflected the two Superstars’ past history and Wyatt went on to say he forgave Orton for all that he did to him.

Before they were enemies, Wyatt and Orton were partners with Orton briefly joining the Wyatt Family as an honorary member. Wyatt and Orton even held the tag titles together as well. Orton and Wyatt would go to war over the WWE Championship in 2017 and then later competed in the infamous House of Horrors match.
Wyatt “forgiving” Orton seems more like a reminder of the deeds that were done and that Wyatt hasn’t forgotten nor does he really forgive. The two could rekindle their past feud if Wyatt comes back to WWE in a babyface role.
2. Roman Reigns
A few years back, The Wyatt Family vs. The Shield was one of one of the hottest feuds in all of WWE. Now, according to more of Wyatt’s strange tweets, he’d like to put the past behind them and possibly be the newest member of The Shield now that Dean Ambrose (aka Jon Moxley) is no longer with WWE.
It’s also worth noting how he uses the word “we” in the message. Is he speaking about his dual personalities or is this a hint at revisiting The Wyatt Family vs. The Shield? Either way the initial tweet along with another directed at Moxley and a follow-up from Wyatt announcing his concern on not hearing back from either Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns has piqued interest.
1. Seth Rollins
While we’re on the topic, the other member of The Shield mentioned would also be a good choice for Wyatt’s first opponent. Why not go right after the Universal Champion? Wyatt’s history with The Shield relates to all three members, and Rollins and Wyatt frequently tore down the house during their past matches.
A series of title bouts, with the possibility of Wyatt attaining the title, could be a compelling story. Having a fresh threat to the title rather than the usual suspects will also keep Rollins’ reign as champion from growing stale.
On the other hand maybe Wyatt’s first opponent will be an even bigger surprise:
Whoever “The Fiend” comes face-to-face with first could make or break Wyatt’s in-ring return.
