In a sad turn of events, the current Insane Championship Wrestling Champion Adrian ‘Lionheart’ McCallum has passed away at age 36.

Lionheart, a veteran of British indie companies such as PCW and Scottish indie giant ICW, has passed away, as announced by the ICW Twitter account this afternoon.

Lionheart had just recently competed in a highly-anticipated match that saw him retain the ICW World Title and win the UEWA Championship to become a double champion.

An ICW mainstay, Lionheart first gained international notoriety when he suffered a broken neck in a match against AJ Styles and had to go through a rigorous physical therapy schedule in order to return to the ring.

Known for being one of the most effective heels in European wrestling, the Scottish fans reveled in booing him during his time as a major heel in their country.

But the fans grew to care for and respect Lionheart and their positive reaction to him made ICW take notice, and Lionheart ended up main eventing the biggest ICW show of the year, Fear and Loathing, in 2018, and won their World Championship to a monster ovation.

Once the announcement of his passing had been broken, many wrestlers from companies all over the world shared their condolences for Lionheart, his friends and his family on social media.

No official statement has been made on the cause of his death and his family has requested privacy, per ICW.

FanSided would like to send our regards to Lionheart’s friends and families during this trying time.
