There is probably no bigger need for a program than the quarterback position. Ultimately, the quarterback is the engine that drives the offense. For Syracuse, they need to address the future of the quarterback spot with their 2020 class.

They’re currently a little thin at the position, so bringing in a commit in 2020 would go a long way. Mason Garcia is one of the quarterbacks they have an offer out to.

Garcia is a big pro-style quarterback at 6’4″ and 220 pounds. He also has some solid athleticism and isn’t a complete statue in the pocket either. The Orange should open the season in the top-25.

With some signature wins the past couple of seasons and a 10-3 record in 2018, the Orange are hopeful that they can keep maintaining success going into the future. The ACC has some tough foes and having a dependable quarterback is a must.

Garcia was just recently offered by the Orange and they’ll have to work hard to keep him going from somewhere closer like East Carolina. Right now, the only person on the Syracuse roster that would be ahead of him if he were to commit is four-star quarterback Tommy Devito.

By that point, Devito would be a junior and if Garcia were to redshirt a year, he’d have plenty of eligibility if he were to take the reigns should he win the job. That’s a ton of hypothetical, however. Whether it’s Garcia or someone else, the Orange need to land a quarterback with this next class.
