Germany plays Sweden on Saturday, June 29 at Roazhan Park in Rennes, France. Here’s what to know before you watch.

Two-time champion Germany close out the quarterfinals at the Women’s World Cup when they take on Sweden in Rennes.

The game between these two women’s soccer titans is the second-most interesting game ofd the round following the USWNT’s clash with France.

Germany are coming off a 3-0 win against Nigeria in the Round of 16. Sweden defeated Canada 1-0 to get to this stage of the tournament.

Germany remain a contender for the title, while Sweden have grown better with every game. The Germans are getting hotter after a slow start with veteran striker Alexandra Popp looking to make a difference like she did when scoring her team’s first goal against Nigeria.

Sweden’s midfield, meanwhile, has been strong at this tournament. Led by Kosovare Asllani, the Swedes are strong technically and will make life difficult for the Germans. This should all make for a very tight and exciting game between two sides that are equally matched.
