2. San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs were on the periphery of rumors surrounding Westbrook, so they may be looking to add a significant piece. They won’t be able to offer potential premium draft picks looking down the road, but the Thunder don’t need to add to their already impressive haul of future assets.

Paul could pair with DeMar DeRozan and give San Antonio a nice backcourt, even if they each have a history of shrinking in the playoffs. LaMarcus Aldridge is also in place as one of the top scoring big men in the league.

Money-wise, the Spurs can make a deal work fairly easily.

DeRozan or Aldridge would have to be included in a trade for Paul, but the Spurs have an easier way to replace DeRozan in 2018 first-round pick Lonnie Walker. Mills has two years left on his contract and moving him simply opens up the depth chart for Paul. To entice the Spurs, I see the Thunder having to send one of the first-round picks they’ve added.
