Fantasy Football: Pre-Draft Tight End Rankings
15. Kyle Rudolph (Minnesota Vikings)
2018 Stats: 64 Receptions | 634 Yards | 4 TDs | 9.9 YPC
The Minnesota Vikings have an amazing offense which I don’t think I’ve mentioned enough times in previous articles. Kyle Rudolph makes for a solid tight end to help out Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs with the pressure.
Rudolph saw a snap share of 91% while being targeted 15 times in the red zone.He saw an improvement in snap shares from the 2017 to the 2018 season by 6%. Rudolph also ranked 11th out of the tight end position with 9.5 fantasy points per game.
14. Jimmy Graham (Green Bay Packers)
2018 Stats: 55 Receptions | 636 Yards | 2 TDs | 11.6 YPC
Ever since Jimmy Graham left New Orleans his career has not been consistent by any means. He’s going to be logging his second season with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers but with the new head coach Mike LeFluer. Graham saw 10 red zone targets last season while holding a 77.7% snap share in the offense while spending 36% of it in the slot. With a new coach in town we will have to take the risk of drafting some of the Green Bay Packers.
13. Austin Hooper (Atlanta Falcons)
2018 Stats: 71 Receptions | 660 Yards | 4 TDs | 9.3 YPC
The Atlanta Falcons have always been NFC contenders no matter what the situation is and they’ll look to continue their playoff run. Hooper was involved in 79% of the offensive snaps last season which was the same as the 2017 season. His red zone target shares also stayed the same last season at 17.6%. Hooper is the same every year as he just does his job but nothing higher or lower.
12. Trey Burton (Chicago Bears)
2018 Stats: 54 Receptions | 569 Yards | 6 TDs | 10.5 YPC
Trey Burton is one of my favorite tight ends to target this year if it’s at the right price which his ADP is at 89.93. He held a snap share of 82% while playing in the slot for 33% of those. Burton was also targeted 14 times in the red-zone which ranked him 35 at the tight end position.
During mid of last season Burton did have some down games but finished pretty consistent in his final three games with 13.6, 8, and 8.3 fantasy points.
11. Delanie Walker (Tennessee Titans)
2018 Stats: 4 Receptions | 52 Yards | 0 TDs | 13 YPC
Delanie Walker had a very sad ending to his 2018 season and the ankle fracture happened in Week 1. But Delanie Walker is a very dangerous tight end when healthy. Dating back to the 2017 season he was involved in 77% of the snaps while he held a 26% target share in the red zone.
He also ranked 6th out of the tight ends in fantasy points averaging 11 points per game. Just like Tennessee Titan fans, we are also hoping Delanie Walker comes back fully healthy and ready to go.
