Fantasy Football: Pre-Draft Tight End Rankings

Welcome ladies and gentlemen! We are almost to the end of the ranking series but don’t worry we’ll have much more fantasy football content coming! Today we are covering the top 20 tight ends for your drafts this year! So lets not waste any time and get to covering!

20. Tyler Eifert (Cincinnati Bengals)

2018 Stats: 15 Receptions | 179 Yards | 1 TDs | 11.9 YPC

Tyler Eifert will be returning from a broken ankle this season and the Cincinnati Bengals aren’t sure if he’ll be ready to go by Week 1. Eifert hasn’t actually played a full season in his entire career which is another downside to him coming in to the season.

The Bengals also are hoping A.J. Green will return to a top wide receiver form after his toe sprain. There are a lot of question marks surrounding Eifert and his career and if you’re looking for a late addition tight end, Eifert may be a good value pick.

19. Mark Andrews (Baltimore Ravens)

2018 Stats: 34 Receptions | 552 Yards | 3 TDs | 16.2 YPC

The Baltimore Ravens are going young as Lamar Jackson and Mark Andrews are coming in to their Sophomore years. In his rookie season Andrews started three of the sixteen games he appeared in and played in 35% of the snaps.

He had seven targets in the red zone, converting just three of those for touchdowns. Andrews was also able to finish the season on a higher note with recording 16.3 and 9.4 fantasy points in his final two games.

18. Jordan Reed (Washington Redskins)

2018 Stats: 54 Receptions | 558 Yards | 2 TDs | 10.3 YPC

The Washington Redskins are back to the point of not knowing what direction they are headed in. They are in limbo at their quarterback position with Colt McCoy and Case Keenum and the only true bright spot they have is Adrian Peterson plus his backup of Chris Thompson.

Jordan Reed could get the job done technically if they had a decent quarterback. Reed saw 65% of the snap share last season and was targeted 7 times in the red zone. On the brighter side of things, Reed ranked 12th in fantasy points at the tight end position with 9.2 points per game.

17. Jack Doyle (Indianapolis Colts)

2018 Stats: 26 Receptions | 245 Yards | 2 TDs | 9.4 YPC

Jack Doyle is the second tight end for the Indianapolis Colts but he still sees a heavy share of snaps at 80%. He was also on the better side of things when it came to red zone targets by seeing 20%. Doyle didn’t have a healthy 2017 season at all either. He was out for two games after Week 2 with a hip strain and then after Week 12 with a kidney laceration that ended his season.

16. T.J. Hockenson (Detroit Lions)

2018 College Stats: 49 Receptions | 760 Yards | 6 TDs | 15.5 YPC

The Detroit Lions were struggling last year with weapons on offense so the drafting of T.J. Hockenson isn’t a huge shocker. The young rookie had a good final season before entering the draft, almost logging 760 yards.

He averaged 15.5 yards per catch and found the end zone 6 times in 13 games. While Jesse James makes for a good tight end, Matthew Stafford should love his new young rookie this season.
