Fantasy Football Player Profile: Davante Adams

Best Case Scenario

The best case scenario for Adams is the WR1 in all formats. He could repay the touchdowns and even go higher to around 15, the yards could come up to around 1,500 and the receptions could tick up as well. Why do I think that? Last season was one of the worst 16 game seasons quarterback Aaron Rodgers has ever had.

He likely never fully recovered from a knee injury in Week 1, but Rodgers threw fro just 25 touchdowns. Of all seasons he started all 16 games, which was the lowest total of his career and the second-lowest since 2008. The TD% for Rodgers in his career is 6.2 percent and last year was 4.2 percent. Almost by default, Adams would see more touchdowns if Rodgers is back to being Rodgers.

As things stood last year, Adams led the league in red-zone targets. If he led in red-zone targets last year, and Rodgers wasn’t playing well….the ceiling is the best fantasy receiver in football, even over DeAndre Hopkins. The best part of Adams could be consistency. Some receivers have serious volatility but Adams had one game out of 15 that he was under 50 yards and one game under five receptions. Only four times did he not find the end zone. That is quite the feat from week to week.
