FanDuel MLB DFS Breakdown – 7/19: Aces Galore
By Joe Metz
FanDuel MLB – Top Outfielders
Top Play: Christian Yelich | MIL | $4,800
It was like splitting hairs trying to choose between Mike Trout and Christian Yelich for the top spot tonight, but the combination of a mere $100 savings and the minor uncertainty with Trout’s calf have me leaning Yelich (plus I tend to have a Brewers bias).

Yelich is a player that never needs statistical backing to instill confidence to play him, but for the heck of it, he’s posted a 0.509 wOBA and 0.411 ISO against RHP this season with an elite 19.5% strikeout rate, 15.3% walk rate and 56.3% hard-contact rate.
Taylor Clarke, on the other hand, has allowed a 0.407 wOBA and 0.293 ISO against righties. You’re staring at the top overall play on the slate.
Value Play: Jordan Luplow | CLE | $2,600
FanDuel’s pricing algorithm never fails to give us free squares and tonight’s happens to be Jordan Luplow.
Mentioned previously, Mike Montgomery has gotten torched by righties to the tune of a 0.351 wOBA and a 0.232 ISO this season. Luplow has typically hit out of the cleanup spot against lefties and has gone absolutely bananas against lefties to the tune of a 0.453 wOBA and a 0.368 ISO.
This may end up being the chalkiest player on the slate, and I would advise eating all of the Luplow chalk.
Honorable Mention(s): Mike Trout (interchangeable with Yelich as top overall, Aaron Judge, Ketel Marte, Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Hicks, Oscar Mercado, Adam Eaton, Tyler O’Neil
