FanDuel MLB DFS Breakdown – 7/22: Nationals Ready to Rake
By Joe Metz
FanDuel MLB – Top Outfielders
Top Play: Juan Soto | WAS | $3,900
Typically my top plays run at least $4,000, but the combination of price and the fact that Soto carries as much upside as the top-priced batter on the slate makes this an easy call.

He’s been nothing short of fantastic this season, especially against righties, posting a 0.405 wOBA, 0.225 ISO and a 16.3% walk rate and 41.2% hard-contact rate.
I mentioned it previously, but Peter Lambert has gotten torched by lefties to the tune of a 0.416 wOBA and a 0.353 ISO. Soto’s upside tonight is insane and given his discounted price, it’s not terribly hard to fit him in your lineups alongside one of the ace pitchers.
Value Play: Tyler O’Neil | STL | $2,700
I told you that I would get to another Cardinals value play and here we are. O’Neil has been on a tear this season against right-handed pitching, owning a 0.385 wOBA, 0.247 ISO and a 4.7% hard-contact rate.
His matchup, Trevor Williams, has actually allowed more power to RHH this season (0.207 ISO) with a 35% hard-contact rate. Should O’Neil continue to hit out of the clean-up spot, he should have ample RBI opportunities and even a shot at 5 ABs depending upon the rest of the Cardinals offensive production, which has a higher ceiling in tonight’s matchup.
Honorable Mention(s): Aaron Judge (makes a case for top OF), Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, Yordan Alvarez, Nelson Cruz, Oscar Mercado, Kyle Schwarber, Jordan Luplow, Josh Reddick
