Down in Blacksburg, Virginia Tech has made what might seem like a non-traditional color scheme of maroon and burnt orange into a clear part of their identity. The Hokies combine those colors with white in their various uniform parts to create a visually appealing wardrobe that is among the best in college football.

In the past few years, uniform supplier Nike has deviated slightly from the traditional Virginia Tech aesthetic. Swapping out the traditional shoulder stripes for a single diagonal stripe, they have also thickened the accent color on the collar and tweaked several other aspects of the uniform. While purists tend to scoff at such changes, they are relatively minor adjustments that do not fundamentally alter the Hokies look.

The VT logo remains intact, and the overall appearance continues to honor the quintessential color scheme for which the university has been identified since 1896. In addition to their classic maroon tops on white pants and white tops on maroon pants, they have also donned an all-orange ensemble with a white helmet in recent years.

Though they do not correspond exactly to past iterations of the uniform, Virginia Tech still boasts a unique look that is all their own at the FBS level.
