6 Fantasy Football Sleeper Wide Receivers To Target Late In Drafts

Adam Humphries, Tennessee Titans

Another player who found a new home this past offseason is Adam Humphries. Coming over from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Humphries had three consecutive seasons in which he surpassed 80 targets. He set career highs in targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns in 2018. The Tennessee Titans gave Humphries $9 million per year, which makes him the 27th highest-paid receiver heading into the 2019 season according to Spotrac. Typically, these types of contracts suggest high usage.

It is safe to assume that Humphries could be a threat to lead all Titans’ receivers in targets. This target share could play into is favor being primarily a slot receiver. Corey Davis will challenge him for targets, as he racked up 112 last season. Even with this high volume of targets, Davis only had a 58% catch rate. Humphries is much more of a sure-handed receiver, as he caught 72% of his targets in ‘18. Davis has not quite lived up to expectations as he now enters his third NFL season.

Humphries currently has an ADP of 177, which basically leaves him undrafted in most scenarios. This low ADP puts him at WR78, making him an afterthought when it comes to Fantasy Football. The Tennessee Titans were ranked 31st in pass attempts last season with just 437. Compared to the Buccaneers’ offense, this is 172 fewer pass attempts. The Titans are moving on from OC Matt LaFleur, who is not the head coach of the Green Bay Packers. Arthur Smith, former tight ends coach, will now take over play-calling duties. We may not know exactly how Smith is going to call games, but hopefully, he can turn around the Titans’ bottom five passing offense from a year ago.
