FanDuel MLB DFS breakdown 7/24: Dodge, duck, dip, dive and DODGERS!

FanDuel MLB – Top Outfielders
Top Play: Cody Bellinger | LAD | $4,700
If there’s one stud that I am going to force into my lineups tonight, it’s the current NL MVP frontrunner Cody Bellinger. He’s gone ballistic in all aspects this season, but against RHP specifically, he’s posted a 0.476 wOBA, 0.378 ISO with a 52.8% hard-contact rate.

While Jaime Barria has been a bit more effective in terms of striking out lefties than righties, he relies heavily on his slider (49.5% of the time). Against that pitch in particular, Bellinger is rocking a 0.421 wOBA since 2016 with a 0.380 ISO and a 53.49% hard-contact rate. He checks in with the highest ceiling of any bat on the slate, and is one that I will look to force into my lineups.
Value Play: Marwin Gonzalez | MIN | $2,800
The Twins come into play as one of my favorite GPP stacks on the slate, as I fully expect them to go overlooked with so many other offenses in great spots tonight.
Gonzalez has really come alive over the last month or two and has moved up to the 2-hole in the lineup after hitting over 0.300 throughout the month of July. On the season, he’s also posted a 0.360 wOBA against left-handed pitching and gets to face off with J.A. Happ, who’s given up a ton of production to righties (0.340 wOBA, 0.223 ISO).
On top of that, Happ has allowed a 41.0% hard-contact rate and a 44.5% fly-ball rate, giving Gonzalez a bit more HR upside than he’s accustomed to. I don’t expect him to be an extremely popular play, so if you are looking for a value play under 10% in cash games tonight, you may have found your guy.
Honorable Mention(s): Mike Trout, Ronald Acuna, Nelson Cruz (one of my favorite one-offs on the slate), Juan Soto, Alex Gordon, Alex Verdugo, Nick Markakis, Adam Eaton, Corey Dickerson, Tyler O’Neill, Jose Martinez
