The Kansas City Chiefs were one of the best teams most of the season last year thanks to new sensation Patrick Mahomes. He threw for 50 touchdowns, and led the league’s best offense with over 35 points per game. The team looks like they could be even better after an offseason that saw a lot of changes, and a lot of bad headlines that ended in their favor.

Of course, the Tyreek Hill saga ended with no suspension, helping them win some of those early games without a distraction. Everyone knows about the situation with Hill, and we don’t have to get into it on a betting article.

The Chiefs added Frank Clark, Tyrann Mathieu and Bashaud Breeland to the secondary. They drafted Mecole Hardman to add another dynamic wide receiver for Mahomes to throw to. They did lose Dee Ford, Eric Berry and Justin Houston, but it’s hard to say that getting younger on a side of the ball that has to play more minutes because of the explosive offense is a bad thing.

The schedule the the biggest thing standing in the way of the Chiefs. They play the AFC South and NFC North, on top of their usual AFC West schedule. However, the first two months of the season see away games against the Jaguars, who will be figuring out the offense in September, and the Raiders, who have a lot of figuring out to do. Then, they go to Detroit to end the month. We don’t really need to get into the state of that team.

The Chiefs just seem like they’re poised to make another step in the AFC. Despite having to play the Patriots and Bears on the road towards the end of the season, they have the chops to easily win 11 games or more.
