From World Series champion to hot dog eating champion, Mark Carman is joined by two figures who know how to win on this edition of the On the Mark podcast.

Two-time World Series champion Ozzie Guillen chats with Mark Carman about his journey to becoming an MLB player and coach, and his hope to manage a ball club once again. While Guillen has aspirations to be back in a dugout, the feeling that he might be too controversial for teams around the league could be what’s holding him back.

“That’s in the past, I’m different now,” Guillen said. “Before, I was 40-something years old managing a team in a tough city with a fanbase hungry to win, and look at the team I was managing. They were controversial players and tough guys, but managing is so easy now.”

Later on in the podcast, Carman sits down with 12-time Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest champion Joey Chestnut to talk about his latest feat, eating chicken wings for 12-straight hours in collaboration with Hooters on National Chicken Wing Day.

“I’ve never done anything like this before, I’ve never had to pace myself, I’m excited but I’m a little nervous,” Chestnut said. “It sounds a little dangerous eating for 12 hours straight, it’s going to be different.”

Finally, Carman shares his thoughts on the latest viral video of Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the 7th inning stretch at a Chicago Cubs game on July 17.

Did Nagy misspeak while saying “peanuts” during the song, or was it just a case of his Pennsylvanian accent? Carman and guest Ethan Blumenthal go full peanuts-gate to break it down.
