205 Live recap for July 30, 2019: Husbands gone wild

Tozawa/Kendrick vs. The Singh Brothers

The last few weeks has seen several matches between Akira Tozawa, The Brian Kendrick and the Singh Brothers. Naturally, a tag match between the four has to happen and we got it this week.

Last week, the Bollywood Boyz presented Tozawa with an award even though he ended up with theirs. Tozawa brings it with him to the ring. He hands it to Kendrick before the match begins, who gives it to the announce team. Vic Joseph and Aiden English are thrilled to have been bestowed an award for Best Announce Team.

This match is fairly routine with a few cool spots. This hasn’t been the most thrilling feud and not much to invest in. It hasn’t been horrible, but it’s time to move on. The Singh Brothers need another tag team to feud with. Since that’s lacking on the purple brand, perhaps Kalisto and Gran Metallik?

Tozawa and Kendrick make a good team, but both excel as singles competitors. It would be nice to see them match up with new Superstars. If I were on booking, I’d put Tozawa in a matchup with Chad Gable. Kendrick has faced a majority, if not all of the roster. Bringing someone from NXT would be refreshing.

Samir holds Kendrick by the arms as Sunil goes after him with the award only for Kendrick to move just in time for Sunil to get hit instead. Kendrick tags his partner in who pins Sunil after hitting a senton. This leaves an opening for their feud to continue should WWE decide to drag this out past SummerSlam.
