DraftKings PGA: 2019 Northern Trust Picks

Rickie Fowler 9,300

Ricky is underpriced this week in DraftKings, as he hardly ever is. He has been playing solid for the entire year, and looks to have a good cap to the season. Fowler is a big game hunter (despite not winning them), and seems to shine when the lights are the hottest.

He made the cut at all Majors and posted 2 top-10’s. He loves a strong field, and this is that. Over his past 5 events, Rickie is gaining strokes in all aspects of his game except putting.

That is extremely uncharacteristic, and will change this week. Rickie’s best putting surface is Bentgrass, and his T2G game is fire, gaining 4.6 strokes over his past 5 events.

Xander Schauffele 8,700

Xander is one of the best players in the world due to his excellence off the tee. That was put into question at the British Open, when his driver failed specs testing. That frazzled Xander and he was not able to perform at his best due to those circumstances. He still eked out a T41 and gained 6.2 strokes off-the-tee at the British Open.

He is a big game hunter, and will bring his big game to New Jersey this week. Xander prefers Bentgrass and Poa, so he will be on a preferred surface this week. His irons are the only less than strength to his game, and he will need a good ball-striking week if he is going to compete. The price is far too cheap for his game though.

Tony Finau 8,300

Finau is too talented of a player for this price-tag. There was chatter that he demolished a course record playing outside of competition last week. This course should set up well for the bomber.

He has not been playing the best of golf recently, but responded nicely after 3 straight missed cuts earlier in the season.

Since those missed cuts Finau has a T23, 3rd at the British Open, and a T27. His irons are back and he prefers Bentgrass over other putting surfaces. This is too cheap for finau, and he has the game to contend here.
