9. Tommy DeVito – Syracuse

Syracuse ended an abysmal stretch of football with a shocking 10-3 season led by quarterback Eric Dungey who tossed 18 touchdowns and only 9 interceptions. Syracuse had ended a streak of four straight under .500 seasons.

Dungey has since left the program and now it is his former backup Tommy DeVito who will be tasked with carrying the offense. Expectations are the highest they have been in nearly two decades for the program as they received a preseason coaches poll ranking of No. 22.

As just a redshirt sophomore, DeVito will either be the big man on campus or the man who brought the school back to mediocrity. With minimal playing experience, DeVito will have to learn on the fly in a conference that lacks depth.

With a bright future and the best roster in years, this season will either set the school back or boost them into the upper echelon of teams in the NCAA. This all rides on the shoulders of the young Tommy DeVito.
