4. Joe Burrow – LSU

LSU is a program who has recently produced some incredible offensive skill position prospects including Leonard Fournette, Derrius Guice, Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr., but those prospects have not brought a championship with them. This is in large part because of poor quarterback play.

As previously mentioned, LSU has not been a team that has had the strongest quarterbacks pass through the program. Joe Burrow showcased some potential this last season, but to make a championship run he is going to have to take his game to the next level.

The LSU Tigers have not defeated Alabama since 2011, a major obstacle in the team’s way of making the playoff. With Tigers faithful growing impatient of the continual losses to Alabama, a quarterback needs to step up and lead the team past the rival Crimson Tide.

Burrow has a lot of pressure on his back to take the team to the next level of competition. LSU has had offensive talent but is in serious need of someone who can put it together. If Burrow fails, many coaches could lose their jobs because of the inability to win the big games.

As competitive as head coach Ed Orgeron is, he is dying to win the big game as a Tigers coach. With his chances running low, Burrow will have to live up to the hype in 2019.
