NFL DFS – Running Backs

Ryan Nall CHI RB

With the Bears’ focus on keeping their key players fresh, I was a little surprised to see David Montgomery so heavily featured in last week’s game. It’s not going to be long until we are talking about Montgomery as the focal point of the Bears offensive attack.

That being said, we know Nagy is keeping his first unit in bubble wrap this game, and it will be a surprise if he continues to roll out his star rookie runner in meaningless games.

Until a report comes out that states Montgomery’s snaps will be extremely limited, he will continue to be one of the more popular plays at his position. Use that to your advantage. If Chicago limits Mike Davis again and pulls the reins back in on Montgomery, it’s going to create a lot of opportunities for the next guy up. Enter, Ryan Nall.

One of the heroes from last preseason, he performed admirably last week by catching all 4 of his targets for 21 yards, despite only gaining 8 rushing yards on 5 attempts. Chicago loves to pepper their running backs with targets, and Ryan Nall could quickly pile up points in DraftKings PPR format. For most of the same reasons just mentioned, Kerrith Whyte Jr. is also in play.

Mark Walton MIA RB

Kenyan Drake‘s injury opens up a few touches in the Miami offense, and Ballage won’t be the only beneficiary. Walton is currently third on the depth chart and is most likely looking at playing time with the first and second unit on Friday night.

What also caught my eye were reports that Mark Walton was particularly impressive in practice this week. On Wednesday, Dolphins reporter, Omar Kelly stated the following on his Twitter account:

"“Mark Walton is really dangerous with the ball in his hands. He moves at a different speed than everyone else.”"

Things can quickly change as news breaks throughout the day, but as of Friday morning, Walton is one of better targets on the slate.
