Fantasy football wide receiver tiers 2019
Wide Receiver – Tier Two
Dan
TyFreak Hill – Hate the guy as a human being but his talent can’t be denied and he’s in the best offense in the league.
Antonio Brown – Is this headcase even going to play? He’s due for serious regression, especially when it comes to the end zone, but I think he’ll catch a ton of balls even from Derek Carr.
TY Hilton – downgraded to the bottom of tier 2 simply due to Andrew Luck’s mystery health status
Joe
Tyreek Hill – no suspension means another full season with electric Pat Mahomes. Deep threat, elite speed, best offense and special teams opportunities make him a legit WR1.
TY Hilton
Antonio Brown – with the helmet issue behind him, I see no way that Carr doesn’t force-feed him the ball and AB is a generational talent.
Thunder Dan
Michael Thomas
Amari Cooper – Amari is prone to inconsistency, but is one of the most talented guys in the league. If he puts it all together this year he could absolutely explode.
Tyler Lockett – A lot of touts I know are really high on Lockett and he certainly has the athleticism to get open down the field. Can he be a consistent 7-10 catch guy this year remains to be seen, or will he still rely on big plays?
Kenny Golladay – Golladay is a massive guy with great hands. He really broke out last year and is one of my favorite guys to have a huge year in 2019.
Chris Godwin – I’m higher on Godwin than most (I took him in the second round of a 12 man mock draft). But this guy is an athletic freak with size and excellent route-running ability. Was targeted in the red zone a lot last year.
Calvin Ridley – Another guy that is falling too far in drafts in my opinion. Ridley was awfully good while on the field last year for only about 60% of the offensive snaps. His snap share and targets should go up this year.
Adam
Michael Thomas – He’s a dynamite talent but New Orleans was 21st in passing attempts and he’s never exceeded 150 targets.
Antonio Brown – I’m of the opinion he will never have a statistical season like he had in Pittsburgh, but he’s likely to get force-fed the ball. Chemistry between he and Derek Carr on a condensed timeline is a concern.
Keenan Allen – Possibly the best route runner in the entire NFL, Allen and Philip Rivers are like peanut butter and jelly. It works and it is greatness.
T.Y. Hilton – If Andrew Luck‘s mysterious injury doesn’t clear up or we get some type of information soon, Hilton will take a tumble.
Robert Woods – Woods played 16 for the first time in his career and destroyed all his benchmarks for over 1,200 yards and 86 receptions. A top 10 finish is right there for him again.
Chris Godwin – See what was said about Mike Evans and on the first preseason game, Godwin didn’t come off the field while Jameis Winston played.
Adam Thielen/Stefon Diggs – Call me skeptical, but a team with almost $50 million of their cap dedicated to these two receivers and Kirk Cousins isn’t likely to be a smash mouth running team. More balanced, maybe. I just don’t buy they’re not going full on running game. I’d take Diggs ahead, but barely.
