DraftKings MLB Pitcher Plays:

Top Tier:

Jacob deGrom ($11,600): deGrom has a 1.79 ERA and 27.1 DraftKings point per game average over his last ten starts. He has been as dominant as anyone over that span. His reward? The Royals. A free swinging bunch of mostly younger guys. The upside is massive here, but this is good hitting weather. I don’t think it will matter. Even if deGrom gives up a homer (not likely….he’s only allowed five in his last ten starts), the strikeouts will more than make up for it.

Dinelson Lamet ($9,400): The Padres have let Lamet go progressively further into games. They still aren’t really pushing him north of 90 pitches, but he is at least the pitcher of record now. Lamet has 30 strikeouts in 20 road innings. The Phillies offense is starting to get going, so there’s risk here. However, the strikeout upside on Lamet helps mitigate that risk.

Eduardo Rodriguez ($9,000): The Orioles are much better against lefties, but E-Rod has held them to a .223 average in 94 at bats with three homers, five runs, and a whopping 32 strikeouts. Rodriguez has racked up 50.8 DraftKings points in his two starts against Baltimore this year. He is well worth this price tag tonight. E-Rod has only allowed nine hits in 13.2 innings to Baltimore this year.

Middle Tier:

German Marquez ($8,800): I was hoping that Marquez would be cheaper given his recent hiccups, but no such luck. It could have something to do with the fact that he blanked the Dodgers over six innings in his last Coors start. Marquez was strong against the Fish in Florida earlier this year, racking up 25.9 DraftKings points. He should clear 20 tonight as well, making him a strong mid tier option.

Anibal Sanchez ($8,400): This is a fairly steep price for Sanchez, and the Brewers still hit righties pretty well. They are hitting a solid .255 against Anibal, but they only have three homers and six runs in 94 at bats. The most alluring thing about Anibal here is that he doesn’t have those blowups that most pitchers do. He’s a solid, yet unspectacular play tonight.

Bargain Pitchers:

Asher Wojciechowski ($6,300): Woj pitched the game of his life against Boston earlier this year, allowing just one hit in seven shutout innings. Those of you who chased Brooks last night had that backfire. This also could in a spectacular manner. After all, that was the game of his life. The chances of a repeat are practically nil, but Woj could still put together a solid start. If you play multiple lineups, it’s worth chasing Woj in one.

Logan Webb ($5,800): Webb will make his major league debut tonight against Arizona. He dominated all levels of the minors this year, logging a 1.85 ERA in 12 starts. Webb isn’t a high strikeout guy, but he’s adequate. The control is good, and he dominated in his only start at AAA. Arizona’s offense is decent, but is geared more to pound lefties. There is solid upside for Webb here at a very low price.

My picks: deGrom, Webb, deGrom, E-Rod; E-Rod, Marquez; deGrom, Marquez
