Will Le’Veon Bell Pick Up From Where he Last Left off?
Bell’s Crazy 2018 Offseason
During the offseason, Bell was lucky enough to find a new home. This time in New York where he’d be rocking green and white, instead of the familiar black and yellow colors from before. Yes, the Jets managed to land an elite talent in Le’Veon Bell, but the question remains, will he be able to produce in the same way as he did when he was with Pittsburgh?
In his five seasons while playing for the Steelers, Bell averaged 4.3 yards per touch along with 35 touchdowns on the ground. He also displayed his versatility in the air as he caught 312 passes and averaged 8.5 yards per catch along with seven touchdowns as well.
Very few running backs could do what Bell has managed to accomplish so far making him such a hot commodity from both a football and fantasy perspective.
While his numbers are elite, what I love the most about Bell is his unique brand of running. He has patience like no other running back ever making it extremely difficult for defenses to read. Bell can literally run up to the line and nearly come to a full stop before finding an opening and take a good seven or eight-yard gain.
He is notorious for sitting back a couple of extra seconds and waits to find a weakness in the defense. Once he finds it, he will exploit it repeatedly. No defensive coordinator would want to have to deal with that type of running, because it is extremely tricky to prepare for if possible.
While Le’Veon Bell is one of my favorite players in fantasy and just football in general, I do have a couple of concerns on how this season will pan out for him. Even though Bell is an elite runner, he will be receiving a downgrade in offensive line talent from Pittsburgh to New York.
