EPL DFS: Top-Tier Forwards/Midfielders

Sadio Mane (Arsenal @ Liverpool, $20) – Mane made his first start of the EPL season last week against Southampton and put up 52.2 fantasy points.  He had 1 goal, 1 assist, 5 chances created, and 2 shots on goal to go along with several defensive peripheral stats.

Even after that, he’s still only the 3rd most expensive star on this slate.  He’s arguably one of the best forwards at getting additional peripheral stats which was great for his fantasy floor last year.

That, along with his goals, gives Mane huge upside.  Liverpool is still favored by 1.0 in this game and the 3.5 over/under will make exposure to this game essential.

Arsenal will present a tougher match-up than Southampton did, but Mane is still a top play on this slate.  Lots of people will stick Mo Salah ($22) into their lineup first, but I lean Mane for $2 savings, his peripherals, and lower ownership.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal @ Liverpool, $20) – I really like the idea of attacking Liverpool with Aubameyang in GPPs.  Liverpool has not kept a clean sheet yet this season, and they’ve only faced Norwich and Southampton.

Aubameyang is several levels above any goal scorers Liverpool has defender so far this season.  He’s been an elite scorer since coming to the EPL, and he’s already in great form this season with 2 goals in consecutive games.

Many people will fade Aubameyang for the match-up away against Liverpool, but he still has decent odds (+162) at scoring in this game. He’s one of my favorite GPP plays on Saturday, but he still carries that low-floor risk due to lack of peripherals.

If you’re on the Arsenal train, Alexandre Lacazette ($18) is a few bucks cheaper and always comes with nice scoring odds but as low of a floor as Aubameyang unfortunately.
