Denver Broncos Fantasy Football Winners:

Phillip Lindsay

I already mentioned that Flacco throws to his running backs at the third-highest clip in the NFL, Phillip Lindsay will be the primary pass-catcher out of the backfield for the Broncos this season. With Freeman better suited for first and second down work, Lindsay is the only current receiving threat on the roster.

More from Fantasy Football

From 2009-2018 Flacco averaged 71 targets to his top pass-catching back while targeting all backs over 135 times in eight of those ten years. While he will probably carry the ball less than 192 times this season, he should still get over 175 carries with another 50 or so catches making him a fantastic PPR mid-late round target.

Royce Freeman

After struggling with injuries early in camp Royce Freeman fell behind the undrafted rookie out of Colorado, as Lindsay went on to make the Pro-Bowl while Freeman ended his rookie season with just 521 yards on 130 carries and five touchdowns. The roles have been flipped with the new coaching staff as Freeman has been in camp while Lindsay has been out recovering from a wrist injury. I would expect Freeman to be more heavily involved in the early-down work, as they do not want to wear down the smaller all-purpose Lindsay. One thing is for certain, with a defensive-minded head coach, the Broncos are going to rely heavily on the ground attack with two promising tailbacks on its roster.

Denver Broncos Fantasy Football Losers:

The Receiving Corps

Only once since 2015 has Joe Flacco had a 1,000-yard receiver and I look for that spread it out style to continue his first year in Denver. The best player in the passing game currently is trying to get back from a ruptured Achilles last season. If Emmanuel Sanders can not get back to full strength the Broncos will lean heavily on DaSean Hamilton who ran (58.5%) routes from slot last season.
